Terms of Use

Stations may use the content provided in the feeds on their sites provided the use follows these requirements:

  • American Public Media's Web modules are for stations to use to display on their Web sites only. These modules should not be distributed to the general public.
  • For both the RSS and JavaScript modules, you can choose to have the American Public Media graphic display with the headline, or you can turn off the graphic and manually code an American Public Media credit somewhere above, below, or near the module, so that it is clear the program is an American Public Media program.
  • Please notify us to let us know which modules and which format (RSS and/or JavaScript) you are using. This helps us gauge what's useful for stations. Send an email to Melinda Driscoll, Online Manager, American Public Media.
  • The feed must keep the link to the program Web site intact. For example, "A Prairie Home Companion" must link to www.prairiehome.org.
  • The American Public Media graphic may not be resized from the image size included in the feed.

RSS Implementation and Resources

Implementing these RSS feeds on your station Web site involves five steps:
  1. Get the feed file location (available on each program's module page).
  2. Implement an XML parsing script to read the feed and convert it to HTML for within your site.
  3. Include the parsed script in your site's pages.
  4. Review the Terms of Use on this page and make sure they conditions are met on your site.
