Krista Tippett, Host
Krista Tippett is a Peabody-award-winning broadcaster and author. As the creator and host of Speaking of Faith at American Public Media, she has innovated a new model of intelligent, in-depth journalism about religion and spiritual ethics in every aspect of human endeavor. The program is heard on over 200 public radio stations across the U.S. and globally via podcast and Internet. She is also the author of a memoir and reflection on religion in 21st Century life, Speaking of Faith - Why Religion Matters and How to Talk about it.
Kate Moos, Managing Producer
Kate Moos is a veteran of public broadcasting with 13 years experience in public radio news as an award-winning reporter and managing editor—positions she filled from 1982 to 1995 at Minnesota Public Radio. As managing editor, Kate was responsible for the planning, oversight and editorial content of daily news and long-form productions as well as special and live broadcasts. She holds an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars in Vermont. Her poetry has appeared in a variety of journals; she reviews poetry regularly, and has been awarded grants and prizes for her work.
Colleen Scheck, Associate Producer
Colleen Scheck has worked at Minnesota Public Radio for 5 years, including two years as an executive assistant to the Senior Vice President of MPR News, and three years as a project manager overseeing budgets and special restricted grants for regional and nation news programs. Prior to MPR, Colleen worked in human resources and retail management for Barnes & Noble and Target Corporation. She has a bachelor's degree in History from Northwestern University. For three years, she has been a weekly volunteer support group facilitator at Chrysalis, a Minneapolis non-profit that provides health and human service programs to women, children and families.
Trent Gilliss, Web Producer
Trent Gilliss has eight years experience working in the private and public sectors. Before coming to the program, Gilliss was a business analyst and quality assurance manager for several Fortune 500 companies, in which he managed content and site production for interactive e-commerce sites. Prior to that, Gilliss served as an assistant editor at the Minnesota State Legislature. During this period, Gilliss also worked as a web consultant for The Writer's Almanac. Gilliss holds a bachelors degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Mary.
Jody Abramson, Associate Producer
Jody Abramson has a Masters Degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a BA from Brown University. She has worked as a documentary producer in New York City creating films for PBS, HBO, ABC, and others. Most notably she was a producer of the landmark PBS series The West, which was seen by more than 28 million viewers nationwide. She lived in Britain for many years working on the BBC's premiere history series Timewatch and as associate producer of the BBC's award-winning digital storytelling project Capture Wales.
