Annual Program Fees


Below is the pricing rate card for The Story.  As you can see, in addition to standard pricing, we have also listed a lower incentive rate: American Public Media will permanently discount carriage fees by 20% for stations broadcasting The Story in the daypart it is designed for, Monday-Friday before 7:00 p.m. local time. We want to be completely transparent and explain why we feel proper placement of this program is so importan—important enough for us to offer an incentive to achieve it.

Like you, we run stations, too. And we understand that cost can be an obstacle to experimenting with innovative, new programming. Producing daily programming like The Story is expensive, but we look to underwriters and foundations to offset production costs and keep program carriage fees reasonable.

We're confident that The Story will become an indispensable part of your midday schedule. We're equally confident that airing this program during its intended daypart will attract the national underwriting and additional funding that will diversify support for the program, relieving stations of all of the burden. This way, we can ensure the program's quality and value to you, your local underwriters and, most importantly, your listeners.
