The Splendid Table’s Turkey Confidential
Turkey Confidential is a live, two-hour, call-in program on Thanksgiving Day from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. EST (NOTE: new time in 2015!) for public radio listeners across the nation.
On Thursday, November 26, help is on the way for Thanksgiving cooks, kitchen helpers and dinner guests on this, the biggest cooking day of the year. Lynne Rossetto Kasper, award-winning host of public radio's national food show The Splendid Table®, will be available to answer listener questions throughout the live, two-hour program. Quickly becoming a Thanksgiving morning tradition, past shows have included everything from a cross-country trucker cooking his Thanksgiving dinner on the manifold to a panicked first-time cook who didn't realize a turkey needs to be thawed. Lynne handles all questions with wit, expertise and laughter.
Andrew Zimmern is a three-time James Beard award-winner, a chef, a writer, teacher and gracious dinner guest who has traveled to over 150 countries, logging countless hours in kitchens around the world. Andrew is best known for his Travel Channel series, Bizarre Foods, Bizarre Foods America, Bizarre World, and now Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations. The Splendid Table's Turkey Confidential 2015 is a two-hour program. There are three 60-second breaks in the program: a floating break in each hour at approximately :29 into the hour, and a fixed break at :59:00, between the two hours. The breaks will be covered by music, and APM will supply Contact Closure 3 for all three breaks. (Please note: Turkey Confidential is not newscast-compatible.)
This is a live, national call-in. Affiliate stations must carry this program on Thanksgiving Day (November 26, 2015). The program must be carried in its entirety. No excerpting is permitted. Simulcast streaming rights are available for this program. Prior to carrying this program, stations must contact their American Public Media Station Relations Representative. Stations are strongly encouraged to carry both hours; however, the hours are discreet and stations may carry either.

Lynne Rossetto Kasper has won numerous awards as host of The Splendid Table, including two James Beard Foundation Awards (1998, 2008) for Best National Radio Show on Food, five Clarion Awards (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014) from Women in Communication and a Gracie Allen Award in 2000 for Best Syndicated Talk Show. Lynne is a respected authority on food, having published multiple bestselling books: The Splendid Table; The Italian Country Table; a series of quarterly e-books, Eating In with Lynne Rossetto Kasper, as well as the best-selling The Splendid Table's How To Eat Supper, How To Eat Weekends and A Summertime Grilling Guide, which were co-authored with founding producer Sally Swift.
