The Splendid Table® is radio's preeminent food program, and explores the entire spectrum: from cheese-making to wine bargains, from great cups of coffee to the best greasy spoons in America. Host Lynne Rossetto Kasper and producer Sally Swift create this award-winning program each week with guests ranging from top chefs to local artisans, and weekly features from America's Test Kitchen.

Public Radio Arts & Culture Audience Profile

The public radio arts and culture audience is well-educated and diverse. They are more likely than the general public to participate in a variety of arts and culture of their own:

Public radio listeners:

  • Enjoy friends and food – 32% enjoy cooking for fun (35% more than the general U.S. adult population). 48% entertain friends at home (35% more than the general population).
  • Travel – 68% flew domestically in the past year (34% more likely); 38% traveled abroad in the past three years (56% more likely).
  • Public radio news listeners have a strong attachment to nature and the environment; 63% are willing to pay more for a product that is environmentally safe; 75% rate "preserving the environment" as very important.
  • 69% more likely to buy natural or organic foods.
  • 53% more likely to have purchased wine in the past 6 months.
