Just in time for Oscars season, our new special celebrates movie music.

“The Movies & The Music: A history of Oscar-winning film music,” is a three-part, three-hour series featuring the greatest Oscar-winning scores – from the first statuette in 1934 to the present day.

Available through March 1, “The Movies & The Music” offers audiences musical history and context before the red carpet rolls out for The Academy Awards on February 26. Learn more about this latest offering in our APM Celebrates package.

The Response – America’s Story seeks listeners’ unique stories about the lives they lead, and their hopes for the future under the new U.S. presidency. This new BBC World Service and APM co-production shares America’s stories with the global community.

The first program, promo and billboard are available for broadcast through January 28, and follows the World Service clock. Recorded at West Virginia Public Broadcasting, it features diverse responses from across the U.S.

BBC Inauguration Coverage, Michelle Obama Special

Inauguration Coverage
Anchored live by Nuala McGovern, coverage will follow the official proceedings on Inauguration Day this Friday, including the swearing in ceremony, President Trump’s inaugural address, and the parade to the White House. Beyond Washington, D.C., BBC correspondents will gauge global reaction, and analyze the significance of this transition to the wider international community.

Reporter Valley Fontaine explores why Michelle Obama is so important to black women around the world.
